Since his earliest infatuations with guitar, Carl “Buffalo” Nichols has asked himself the same question: how can I bring the blues of the past into the future? Nichols’ vision for the blues is of a form of music that’s intimately tied to everyday life, something that’s reflected not only in the choice of instrumentation, but in the complexities and topics of his songwriting.
