From Personal Experience to a Business Venture

Emma and David, the founders of Augment Concord, don’t come from healthcare backgrounds. Emma worked in the mental health field, while David was an electrical contractor. But like many others, they hit a point in life where exhaustion, aches, and extra weight signaled the need for change.

They started using an inflatable plunge pool and sauna at home and began to see the benefits for themselves, which led to an interest in sharing the concept with others.

A simple Facebook ad introduced them to the Augment Wellness franchise and their lives were transformed. Now, they’re sharing these life-changing biohacking services with their home community.

So, what exactly is biohacking? It is a holistic approach to improving longevity and wellness. It’s about making intentional changes to optimize your body and mind, whether for sports performance or everyday life. At Augment Concord, the results are evident: faster recovery, better sleep, and renewed energy.

A Shift Toward Self-Care

Augment Concord caters to anyone ready to take control of their wellness journey. While initially expecting athletes to be their primary clientele, they’ve found that many members are individuals seeking relief from everyday aches and pains, as well as those looking for natural alternatives to medication.

One member shared how the cold plunge helped alleviate seasonal depression—no medication needed this year. Runners and Spartan racers use the services to recover more quickly, and weightlifters report increased performance even as they age. Augment Wellness has become a hub for those striving to recover faster, perform better, and live healthier lives.

However, Emma said the largest part of their membership is everyday people, later in their lives, looking to relieve aches and pains, continuing to be active, but feeling better along the way.

The Science of “Doing Hard Things”

Emma and David believe that tackling challenges like cold plunges can help build resilience in everyday life. “When you face these physical stressors regularly, you start realizing what you’re capable of in your personal life,” Emma shared.

Their members agree. Shelby Clyburn noted, “Joint and muscle pains are significantly reduced if not gone, minds are cleared and calmed, and we have the best sleep.”

Tiffany Williams added, “The facility is top-notch, with a seamless and well-thought-out process that makes the entire experience effortless.”

What Augment Concord Offers

The facility is packed with state-of-the-art equipment, much of which is rare to find in smaller communities.

  • Core Treatment: This package includes four holistic therapies: compression therapy (legs, hips, or shoulders), infrared saunas, cold water immersion, and steam saunas. Members often leave feeling rejuvenated, with reduced joint and muscle pain, mental clarity, and improved sleep.
  • SwimX Plunge Pool: Unlike most facilities with individual tubs, Augment opted for a SwimX plunge pool to foster community and ease of use. The pool is the same one used by professional sports teams including the Dallas Cowboys and Milwaukee Brewers.
  • Red Light and Salt Therapy: Combining these therapies into one session is perfect for busy individuals and has many health benefits including reduced inflammation.
  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber: A unique two-person chamber allows members to share the experience and split costs, making it accessible to more people.
