The City of Kannapolis is gearing up for an exciting milestone as it celebrates the 10th anniversary of the beloved Jiggy with the Piggy Festival.
This year’s event, sponsored by the Rowan CVB, promises to be bigger and better than ever with a range of activities and attractions for visitors of all ages. Scheduled to take place from May 2nd to May 5th in downtown Kannapolis, the festival is set to offer a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Country music superstar Craig Morgan, known for his chart-topping hits and unwavering support for the military, will headline a free concert on Friday, May 3, at the North Carolina Research Campus Horseshoe. Morgan, a multi-faceted entertainer, has established himself as a country music icon, TV personality, author, celebrated outdoorsman, and patriotic Army veteran.
- With over 1.5 billion career streams and more than 25 songs charted on Billboard, he has thrilled audiences with hits such as “Bonfire,” “Almost Home,” and “That’s What I Love About Sunday.”
For barbecue enthusiasts, the Jiggy Festival is a must-visit event. Recognized as one of the largest sanctioned events by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS), the festival will host over 70 barbecue competition teams vying for top honors and prize money.
🍖🏆 Attendees can also participate in the People’s Choice pork-tasting competition, offering an opportunity to savor and vote for their favorite flavors.
The Kannapolis Public Safety Assistance Foundation will be back with their renowned barbecue, and additional food vendors have been added to the lineup to cater to a variety of tastes. Festival-goers can indulge in a feast of festival foods while exploring the vibrant atmosphere and engaging with the local community.
- In addition to the barbecue competition, the festival which has been named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society, will feature a diverse range of activities to keep visitors entertained throughout the weekend.
From arts and crafts vendors to live concerts, fireworks, and a People’s Choice pork tasting competition, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The kid’s zone promises hours of fun for the little ones, ensuring that the festival is a family-friendly affair.

Kids can enjoy the Ninja Nation obstacle course, a fun and free way to test their balance, agility, and strength. The course will operate from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, May 4th. Whether your kids are beginners or pro ninjas, all ages and abilities are welcome to come and test their skills.
You can kick off the 10th Annual Jiggy with the Piggy Festival by participating in the Jiggy 5K! Lace up your running shoes at 6:30pm on Thursday, May 2, at the NC Research Campus for a fun-filled evening. 🐖 Get ready to oink with excitement as pig racing is added to this year’s lineup of events. Watch these adorable piggies compete in races, paddle through water obstacles, and dash towards the finish line. It’s guaranteed to bring smiles and laughter to all who witness the fun.
Be sure and check out the mesmerizing Drone Show at 9pm on Friday, May 3rd! For the first time ever, more than 200 drones will come together to produce a captivating spectacle of geometric patterns, iconic visuals, and special tributes commemorating the Jiggy with the Piggy event.

The festival is open to the public, with free admission and is located at 125 N. Research Campus Drive and Downtown Kannapolis. Please note that pets and smoking are not permitted on the premises.
🥞 Notable on Saturday Morning: Support the Y Service Club by enjoying a Pancake Breakfast from 7am-10:30am at the Kannapolis Branch.
