Downtown Concord Launches New Social District

 |

As Downtown Concord approaches the completion of the Streetscape project, they have announced a new Social District that visitors can enjoy!

What is a Social District? An area where people can walk with open, to-go containers of alcoholic beverages sold by a participating business in a contiguous area.

A social district may include both indoor and outdoor areas of businesses within the defined district during the days and hours established for the social district.

Social District Hours: Monday-Sunday from 11am to 10pm

Businesses in Downtown Concord are categorized into three groups denoted with stickers displayed on their windows:

1) Drinks Sold Here: This is an ABC-permitted business that can sell alcoholic beverages in the Social District.

2) Drinks Welcome: A retailer or non-ABC permitted business that allows Social District beverages into their business.

3) No Drinks Please: A business that does NOT allow Social District beverages into their business. NOTE: If a business does not have a window sticker, it is NOT participating.

Keep in mind: A Social District does not mean you can bring alcoholic beverages from home and walk around with them! They must be purchased from participating restaurants and bars.

See all the rules and participating businesses on the City of Concord website. Remember to enjoy the Social District, while also drinking responsibly.
