When you are scrolling through your social media feed and keep seeing your friends raving about a new restaurant you just must check it out! That is how the entire CW team ended up enjoying a dinner out at SeƱor Agave on South Union Street in Concord during their soft opening.

  • This new Mexican restaurant appears to be a new prime destination for a special group occasion or your regular weekly evening out!

Join them for their Grand Opening on Aug. 13, 2024, featuring: 11am Ribbon Cutting and a Mariachi Band from 6ā€“8pm.

The family-owned restaurant is the second for them, owner Miguel shared with us. They have operated El Vaquero in Locust since 2012 and just happened to be driving by the Food Lion shopping plaza and saw this new space had become available.

Miguelā€™s father is from Guanajuato, Mexico which is depicted in a beautiful mural on the wall of the restaurant (see photo of the family below). He has been working in restaurants starting at a very young age alongside his dad. Now that they are older, they enjoy owning their restaurants, and especially like interacting with customers and meeting so many new people.

  • That may be why they are getting so many early rave reviews about their customer service.

The restaurant is beautiful inside with a large dining area and lots of bright art throughout. There is also a well-stocked bar area that also has seating. We also love their two ā€œselfie-worthyā€ areas at the front of the restaurant.

Speaking of the drinks, we had some of the most fun and festive cocktails that canā€™t help but literally ā€œbrightenā€ your day, and you might even have a rubber ducky inside! Be sure to try the margarita flight!

The extensive menu featured all of your favorites and some specialty items as well, but all the dishes had large portions and very creative presentations.

  • On our visit, we started with fresh chips and house-made guacamole, followed by unique main dishes.

The Tacos Asada included four (yes four!) delicious tacos that are fashioned after tacos you would get in Mexico. We also tried the PiƱa Loca which included chicken and shrimp served inside of a pineapple. One of their specialties is the Mocajete, which is a variety of meats (and cactus) served inside of an authentic mortar. It was a LOT of food but was delicious and allowed us to have leftovers for the rest of the week!

Take a peak at their Food and Drink menus on their Facebook page, but better yet, stop in and experience this new restaurant for yourself! They also offer take out if you want to grab something on your way home after work.
