For over 15 years, Gianni’s Trattoria has been a beloved spot for Italian cuisine in Downtown Concord. The restaurant, known for its authentic Italian dishes and warm, welcoming atmosphere, has now moved to a new location at Gibson Mill, just a short drive from the original spot.

From New York to Concord: The Vision Behind Gianni’s

Founded in November 2008, by John “Gianni” Goode and Executive Chef Heather Stadler, Gianni’s Trattoria was originally established with a vision of offering a genuine neighborhood Italian dining experience.

  • Having moved from the lively streets of New York, they wanted to create a comfortable and welcoming space where friends and family could gather over a delicious meal.

Their approach has always been simple: use the finest ingredients, whether sourced locally or imported from Italy, to deliver a genuine Italian dining experience.

What’s New on the Menu?

Despite the move, Gianni’s commitment to exceptional dining remains unchanged. While the original location’s Pizza Loft has closed due to the absence of a pizza oven, the team is actively exploring options to reintroduce this favorite item in the future. For now, patrons can look forward to a refreshed menu that still includes many beloved classics, along with some exciting new additions.

  • One of the highlights of the new menu is the Roasted Baby Bella Mushrooms, topped with seasoned garlic butter, breadcrumbs, herbs, and Romano cheese.

Another standout is the Veal Saltimbocca, featuring thinly pounded veal topped with imported rosemary ham and fontina cheese, served in a sundried tomato sage butter sauce.

Updated Hours for a Perfect Dining Experience

The restaurant’s business hours have been adjusted slightly with the new location. Dinner service is now available from 5 to 9pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and from 5 to 10pm on Friday and Saturday. On Sundays, the restaurant will be open from 4 to 9pm, offering an expanded dinner menu to enhance the Sunday dining experience.

First Impressions: A Stunning New Space

I recently visited Gianni’s Trattoria at its new spot in Gibson Mill, and it was everything I’d hoped for. The moment I walked in, I was struck by how open and airy the place felt. The 4000-square-foot space is perfect for anything from a cozy dinner to a bigger get-together.

  • But what really stood out were the floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around three walls, letting in tons of natural light during the day and offering a beautiful view at night.

One of my favorite things about the new location is the large bar that takes center stage in the room. It’s the kind of place that just draws you in, whether you’re looking to unwind with a glass of wine or sip on a cocktail before dinner. The bar area feels grand yet welcoming—perfect for kicking off your meal or hanging out after.

A Must-Try Dish: Shrimp Piccata 🍤

The highlight of my visit was definitely the Shrimp Piccata. The shrimp were pan-seared to perfection and paired with artichoke hearts and capers in a zesty lemon butter sauce. Served over angel hair pasta, this dish really shows off Gianni’s dedication to simple, delicious Italian food.

A Fresh Start with the Same Great Taste

The new location might have a different layout, but the essence of Gianni’s Trattoria—its commitment to quality, flavor, and a welcoming atmosphere—remains unchanged. The move seems to have given them a fresh start while still holding true to what made them a favorite in the first place. If you haven’t had a chance to visit yet, I highly recommend checking out their new spot. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time diner, Gianni’s continues to deliver a taste of Italy with every dish.
