Green Leaf Farms in Concord has been a part of the Safrit family for over a century, deeply rooted in their commitment to sustainable farming practices and community engagement. The farm has evolved into a unique space offering high-quality products, memorable events, and immersive experiences for all who visit.

The Safrit Family Legacy

Dating back to the late 1800s, Green Leaf Farms has been cultivated and cared for by the Safrit family. Over the past 10–15 years, Danny Safrit and his wife Taska took over farm operations. Their daughter, Brittany, joined the operation eight years ago, infusing fresh ideas and vision into the farm’s offerings. Together, they’ve created a place where parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren all work hand in hand, continuing the family tradition.

Sustainable Farming at Its Best

Green Leaf Farms is a working farm with a sustainable focus. Known for its grass-fed and grass-finished beef, the farm uses the method of intensive mob grazing, ensuring the livestock is rotated daily to fresh grass. This approach not only keeps the animals healthy and happy but also enriches the soil, creating a unique terroir that makes their beef some of the best in North Carolina. In addition to beef, the farm also offers pastured eggs and woodlands pastured pork, all sourced from animals raised with care and attention.

An Event Venue with Eclectic Charm

Green Leaf Farms isn’t just a farm—it’s also a sought-after event venue. The eclectic energy of the barn, combined with modern amenities like large ceiling fans, patio heaters, and a climate-controlled granary, makes it the perfect backdrop for any event. Whether it’s a wedding, bridal party, yoga retreat, family reunion, or baby shower, the farm provides a beautiful and versatile space. The newly expanded barn area and covered outdoor space with curtains offer even more possibilities for customization, ensuring every event is truly one-of-a-kind.

Farm-to-Table Dinners & Community Events

Green Leaf Farms is passionate about bringing the community together. They regularly host farm-to-table dinners, where guests enjoy locally sourced meals, often accompanied by live entertainment such as line dancing, salsa, or even belly dancing. These dinners celebrate local food and create a relaxed atmosphere for mingling and making memories.

Generations Over Dinner: Bridging Ages and Ideas

Brittany is especially excited to introduce a new concept to the farm—Generations Over Dinner scheduled for Friday, Oct 11th from 6:30–9pm. After attending a similar event, Brittany was inspired to bring this nationwide movement to Concord. The idea is simple yet powerful: bring together people from different generations to share stories, ideas, and perspectives over a delicious meal.

  • These dinners, limited to 30-40 people, provide a unique opportunity to connect with others, foster intergenerational dialogue, and gain fresh insights from those with different life experiences.

After a locally-sourced dinner featuring ingredients from Green Leaf Farms and other area farms, guests break into small groups, each composed of members from multiple generations. These groups then engage in meaningful discussions, guided by prompts designed to explore topics like significant ancestors or shared values. Green Leaf Farms hopes to host these dinners 3-4 times per year.

The Tub Shack: A Wellness Retreat

One of the newest additions to Green Leaf Farms is the Tub Shack, a wellness oasis designed for ultimate relaxation. Overlooking a peaceful pond, the Tub Shack features an infrared sauna, soaking tubs, and a therapeutic spa tub for both hot and cold soaks. It’s the perfect spot for some solo self-care or a romantic retreat. Guests can unwind on the deck, enjoy grazing boards and refreshing drinks, and soak in the tranquil beauty of the farm.

The idea for The Tub Shack was inspired by Brittany’s parents, who, after a vacation to the mountains of North Carolina, decided to create a similar experience on the farm. Now, this little slice of paradise is available to those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life right here in Cabarrus County.

Farm Tours and Community Engagement

At the heart of Green Leaf Farms is a love for sharing their farming practices with the community. The family welcomes visitors for immersive farm tours where they showcase their sustainable methods, introduce their friendly animals, and share the story of their century-old farm. These tours are perfect for groups or families wanting to see a working farm in action and learn more about where their food comes from. As Brittany shares, “We believe in transparency. We love showing the community that we stand behind our farm practices and the quality of our products.”

Spring 2025: Mark Your Calendars for Farm Fest

Looking ahead to spring 2025, the farm will host it’s 3rd Annual Farm Fest—a family-friendly outdoor event featuring 30+ vendors, farm tours, a bounce house, food, and more. It’s a fun-filled day for the entire community to enjoy.
