🎵 🎸 Harrisburg Announces Outdoor Concert Series
The Town of Harrisburg announced its 2023 Rockin’ the Burg Community Concert Series, a free, family-friendly outdoor concert series, held on the Harrisburg Park Amphitheater Stage.
- The Town is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and each Rockin’ the Burg Concert will be honoring a specific decade.
🎵 May 13: Departure – “The Journey Tribute Band” celebrating “80s Night.” Opener: David Domingo.
🎵 June 10: Blue Monday celebrating “Retro MTV ’80s and ’90s Classics.” Opener: Daniel Arthur Gurley.
🎵 August 12: Sail On: “Beach Boys Tribute Band” celebrating the ’70s. Opener: Mike Alicke.
🎵 September 9: The Garth Guy: “A Garth Brooks Tribute” celebrating the 2000s.
🎵 October 14: TBD. Visit the Concert Series website for updates.
Opening acts begin at 6:30pm with the featured artists performing from 7–9pm.
What Will You Find at Rockin’ the Burg?
Each concert features food trucks, a beer garden, and a kid’s zone. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, families, and leashed pets.
🍺 Cabarrus Brewing Company collaborated with the Town to create a special brew to commemorate their anniversary with a collectible can design. See our full article and label designs here.
Beer Garden Partners include Cabarrus Brewing Company, Percent Tap House, and Dover Vineyards. Beer/wine must be consumed while inside the beer garden. A Valid ID is required to enter the beer garden. Beer Garden Hours: 6–9pm.
Did you know the Cabarrus Arts Council supports both Rockin’ the Burg and the Kannapolis Summer Concert Series through funds from the North Carolina Arts Council?
Annual July 4th Celebration
They have also released the Event Schedule for their Annual July 4th Celebration.
- The weekend-long event began in the late ’90s as a way to honor and celebrate the military and their families.
The weekend features one of the largest and most well-attended parades in the area beginning at 9am on July 4th. The parade spans Highway 49 beginning at Captain Steve’s restaurant and ending at Robinson Ave.

🎆 The 2023 Celebration will also feature more amusements, TWO headliners, and TWO nights of spectacular fireworks! Sister Hazel will take the stage on Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th will feature Generation Radio!
- Sister Hazel is an American alternative rock band from Gainesville, Florida, whose style blends elements of jangle pop, folk rock, classic rock, and southern rock.
- The band Generation Radio consists of Grammy Award-winning bassist Jay DeMarcus (of the hugely popular country group Rascal Flatts), Jason Scheff (lead vocalist and bass player for Chicago for over 30 years), Deen Castronovo (Journey, Revolution Saints), Chris Rodruiguez, and Tom Yankton.
