Harrisburg's July 4th Celebration

Harrisburg’s Annual July 4th Celebration is an unforgettable experience your entire family will love! This traditional two-day event boasts carnival rides and games, live music, festival foods, a patriotic parade, fireworks, and so much more!

Marching on: Everything You Need to Know About the Parade

The Harrisburg Parade is a showcase of military and veteran groups, equestrian riders, fire trucks, school marching bands, car club enthusiasts, dancers, tractors, and decorated floats manned by local businesses, and is traditionally held on the morning of July 4th. Viewers come from across the county to watch this patriotic show and will line Highway 49 from Captain Steve’s to Robinson Ave.

Can’t make it in person? LIVESTREAM via the Town of Harrisburg YouTube Channel starting at 9am on July 4th.

Spectators are advised to find their viewing spot on the northbound lane side of Highway 49. These lanes will be temporarily closed for the duration of the parade, whereas passing traffic will be diverted to travel along the southbound lanes. More information about lane closures can be found here.

For the best parade watching experience, be sure to bring your chairs and blankets to get comfortable for the hour and a half long show, a water bottle to beat the heat, and something for your littles to collect candies and small swag handouts.

Parade tip: Parking is first come first serve at the various businesses along Highway 49 spilling into curb-side parking along parallel streets. Plan to arrive early to beat the beginning of the parade, cross Highway 49 if needed, and find a viewing spot. Be sure to wear good walking shoes.
