The name nods to the infamous Lucky Luciano and the atmosphere feels like a scene from The Sopranos or The Godfather movies, offering more than just a meal—it’s an experience with a cool, nostalgic touch.
Luciano’s is owned by Matthew and his wife, Megan. For over 20 years, Matthew honed his culinary skills in Florida’s fine dining scene, with side gigs at various pizza spots. Four years ago, when he first heard about the food hall concept, the idea for Luciano’s began to take shape.
Originally, Matthew thought he’d be serving burgers, but his love for pizza—and a bit of luck—led him to become the food hall’s pizza vendor.
A Slice of Fine Dining in Kannapolis
Luciano’s is more than your average pizza place. Matthew’s fine dining background adds a touch of sophistication to the menu. The pizzas here are upscale but still familiar. At Luciano’s, every pizza is crafted with care, using only the best ingredients to ensure each bite is as good as it can be.
The dough—a noteworthy Neo-Neapolitan base—is baked in a classic New York oven, giving it a unique texture and flavor that’s hard to find elsewhere. Matthew is constantly refining the recipes, aiming to make each pizza better than the last. “I try to bring a fine dining touch to pizza, but in a way that’s still fun and casual,” says Matthew.

Bold Flavors and Fan Favorites
Pizzeria Luciano’s menu is a mix of build-your-own pizzas and specialty pies, featuring fresh, bold ingredients. Current fan favorites include the pepperoni with garlic honey, fresh basil, and oregano—a sweet and savory twist that’ll make your taste buds dance. There’s also a cheese pizza like no other, featuring Grana Padano, fresh mozzarella, dry mozzarella, white cheddar, and a sprinkle of fresh cracked black pepper around the crust for that extra kick.
But if you’re in the mood for something a little different, try the **Spicy Hawaiian**—a pie that plays with flavors you don’t usually expect on a pizza. The pickled pineapple adds a tangy kick to balance out the bacon. Garlic knots are another menu highlight, perfect for sharing (or keeping all to yourself).
A Dream Kitchen in The Bank Food Hall
The Bank food hall is becoming a favorite spot in Kannapolis for locals and visitors alike, and Matthew loves being a part of what’s happening there. “It’s something really cool—this is my dream kitchen. The food hall concept is great, and all the vendors support each other.”
The old-school theme of The Bank, with its gangster vibes, complements Pizzeria Luciano’s personality perfectly. It’s a place where Matthew’s passion for pizza and his love of the Goodfellas aesthetics collide in the best way. And as Matthew puts it, “If I wasn’t working here, I’d hang out here.” That pretty much says it all.
So next time you’re in Kannapolis, head over to The Bank and grab a slice. Whether it’s the pepperoni dripping with garlic honey or the unexpected combo of pickled pineapple and bacon, you’re in for a treat. You might just find your new favorite pizza spot—and maybe a new favorite hangout, too.
