Discover one of the most unique and charming beauty destinations in Concord. The coolest garage in town!

Carbon Compass Beauty Bar and its sister location, The Carbon Element, are housed in a former mechanicโ€™s garage. These businesses offer a cozy and stylish atmosphere while providing a range of hair and beauty services.

๐Ÿ’„ The Carbon Element provides piercing, tattooing and cosmetic tattooing/permanent makeup.

Their Story ๐ŸŒŸ

Madison Huneycutt is the proud owner of Carbon Compass Beauty Bar. She has been working as a stylist for over 10 years and is passionate about helping her clients โ€œchange the way they see themselves, the way they feel about themselves, and even sometimes the way they portray themselves.โ€

In 2020, Madison was ready to open her own salon and drove around looking for a suitable space during the pandemic.

๐ŸŒŸ She originally thought she wanted to set up shop in Gibson Mill, but she noticed an empty mechanicโ€™s garage on McGill Avenue that she started to envision running her business in.

The original plan was to open the salon in October 2020 but was postponed due to construction delays. On June 24, 2021, Compass Beauty Bar opened in a temporary location (the brown door on the ride side of the building), which is now the home of The Carbon Element. Compass Beauty Bar moved into the renovated garage in January 2022.

Where Style Meets Artistic Expression ๐Ÿ’‡โ€โ™€๏ธ

The salon’s interior is a careful combination of rustic and industrial elements, with exposed brick walls, leather chairs, sleek mirrors, a plush couch, and elegant lighting that come together to create a luxurious and inviting atmosphere. The ambiance is warm and cozy, and the staff is friendly and professional, making it the perfect place for a pampering experience.

The location in the garage has been a source of great joy for Madison, who has enjoyed the freedom of creating her own space to run her business.

While the outside of the building still resembles a garage with the roll up door that you will often find open during beautiful NC days, Madison has worked with local artists to bring in some style to the building.

๐ŸŽจ The interior back brick wall of the building was painted by local artist, Sophie Olson. Check out the video of Sophie painting the wall here! The mural on the front of the building was painted by the renowned local artist, Tuxedo Kat.

Theyโ€™re Pet Friendly! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿถ

One very unique thing about Compass Beauty Bar is that they are pet friendly.

๐Ÿถ Thatโ€™s right! Compass Beauty Bar welcomes Fido to join you while youโ€™re being pampered. They even have water and special treats for your furry friends.

June 24, 2023 marks the two year anniversary of Carbon Compass Beauty Bar in their gorgeous location at 380 McGill Ave NW, Concord, NC 28027! Be sure to show your support by exploring their services and scheduling an appointment. You can also visit them on Facebook and Instagram!
