Cabarrus Meals on Wheels’ Soup Sampling fundraiser benefits elderly and homebound residents.

📅 Oct 29th from 11:30am to 1:30pm
📍 City Club at Gibson Mill, 325 McGill Ave. NW, Concord

This tasty fundraiser, now in its 18th year, warms both the tummy and the heart as it pairs the opportunity to sample soups from some of Cabarrus’ favorite restaurants with the goal of raising funds to support the elderly and homebound in our community.

  • This organization is dedicated to a beautiful mission: providing a hot meal and a warm hello to the elderly and homebound residents of Cabarrus County.

Cabarrus Meals on Wheels prepares nutritious meals each weekday morning for disadvantaged seniors in Kannapolis, Concord, and surrounding areas and then relies on loyal volunteers to deliver them while simultaneously offering a check-in at the time of delivery. A warm meal, friendly smile, and safety check allow these seniors to continue living independently in their own homes, where they want to be.

By purchasing a $30 ticket to this event, you not only satisfy your taste buds with the best soups in town but also lend a hand to this heartwarming cause. Kimberly Strong, Executive Director for CMOW said that last year was one of their best-attended events, with over 600 people in attendance.

So, what can you expect at this year’s Soup Sampling event? Here’s a taste of what awaits you.

All-You-Can-Eat Signature Soups. Local restaurants and caterers will come together to compete for the coveted title of “Best Soup.” Your ticket grants you access to a cornucopia of delicious soups that will leave your taste buds dancing with delight.

  • Whether you crave a comforting bowl of chicken noodle or a zesty gumbo, they’ve got you covered. The Smoke Pit and Basilico Italiano will be participating again this year, along with new participants; Grounds & Vine, Rachel’s Place, Asian Café, and Table 11.
