Community Yoga Central is more than just a yoga studio – it’s a vibrant collective of independent yoga teachers dedicated to making yoga accessible to everyone.
- Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or stepping onto the mat for the first time, there’s a place for you in their welcoming space.
In Sanskrit, “shala” means home, and that’s exactly what Community Yoga Central strives to be – a home where you can shed your shoes and stresses, and simply be yourself.
🏆 Voted Favorite Yoga Studio in 2023, the community’s support fuels their mission to offer affordable, accessible yoga in a nurturing environment.

Founded a little over two years ago by four passionate yoga teachers— Delight Gilley, Keshini (Keni) House, Joanna Dudley, and Sheryl Campbell (pictured below) who shared a common vision: to create a space where yoga could be practiced in a supportive and inclusive environment.
They wanted to create a space where yoga was not only accessible but also welcoming to all, regardless of experience level, age, or body type. Their mission was simple yet profound: to support the well-being of the community through the practice of yoga.
One of the defining features of Community Yoga Central is its commitment to affordability and flexibility. With no contracts and drop-in rates as low as $10 for in-person classes and $5 for virtual sessions, the studio ensures that financial constraints never hinder access to the transformative power of yoga.
Scholarships are available to those who need them, to further reduce the cost of classes, underscoring the studio’s unwavering dedication to inclusivity.
Community Yoga Central offers a variety of classes suitable for all experience levels, from gentle restorative yoga to more dynamic vinyasa flow. Most classes offer variations to accommodate different levels of experience and ability. Even those with mobility challenges can enjoy practicing Chair Yoga, which offers a gentle yet effective practice accessible to all.
Here’s a glimpse of some of the classes offered at Community Yoga Central:

Yet, Community Yoga Central’s impact extends beyond its studio walls. Rooted in the spirit of dāna, or generosity, the studio is dedicated to giving back to the community that has embraced it so wholeheartedly.
Through initiatives like FREE Community Yoga sessions at the Cabarrus Health Alliance, the studio extends its healing touch to those who may not have access to traditional yoga spaces.
