Have you or someone you know been affected by Alzheimer’s? One way you can join the fight to find a cure is to participate in the world’s largest fundraiser, 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Rowan-Cabarrus, NC, for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join. Last year, thanks to our incredible community, they surpassed their goal of $50,000 by raising $62,000! This year, they are aiming even higher with a goal of $75,000. Follow their Facebook page to see the fundraising progress or to sign up to participate.

While there is no fee to register, all participants are encouraged to raise funds. Every dollar counts and goes a long way in supporting the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission. Registration is open online inviting everyone to be part of a movement that is making a real difference.

Remember, you are not alone. The Alzheimer’s Association also offers a 24/7 hotline (800-272-3900) for round-the-clock support and information. There are also support groups and resources available in Cabarrus County, including the Coltrane Life Center, Morningside, and DHS.

Angela’s Story: A Touching Look at Dementia Care

Angela’s journey underscores the importance of better dementia care and the vital role of support systems like the Alzheimer’s Association. Angela’s heartfelt account illustrates how community support made a significant difference in her life.

Purple Out Night: Paint the Park Purple!

The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers are hosting Purple Out Night on Friday, August 16th, and they’re inviting everyone to come together to #strikeoutalzheimers. This amazing event is all about showing support for those who fight Alzheimer’s every day and raising crucial funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

Put on your best purple attire—shirts, wigs, hats, and anything else you can find—and join in for an unforgettable evening at the ballpark. The first 300 attendees will receive a free T-shirt, courtesy of these generous sponsors: Ann St. Senior Living, The Corner Crust, Fusion Mexican Grill, and Charity Baptist Church. Don’t miss out on the chance to make the whole ballpark a sea of purple!
