Florida Teen Charged After Kicking Six-Months-Pregnant Woman During Violent Home Altercation, Police Say
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA — An 18-year-old Florida woman is facing serious felony charges after police say she kicked a six-months-pregnant woman in the stomach during a violent confrontation inside a Boynton Beach home, despite allegedly knowing the victim was carrying a child.
According to the Boynton Beach Police Department, Victoria Webb was arrested following the January 19 incident at a residence on Southwest Fourth Avenue, located in the coastal Palm Beach County city just north of Miami.
Webb has been charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant victim and cruelty toward a child with aggravated child abuse, both felony offenses under Florida law.
Police Say Pregnant Woman Was Injured While Trying to Stop Assault on Child
Investigators say the incident began when the pregnant woman arrived home and attempted to intervene in a physical altercation involving Webb and a much younger boy.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Webb was actively hitting the child when the victim stepped in to stop the assault. During the attempt to separate them, police say the pregnant woman was struck in the face and then kicked in the stomach.
Officers responding to the scene described the victim as visibly distressed and crying, with injuries consistent with her account. Police noted in the report that the woman was six months pregnant at the time of the attack.
Child Says He Couldn’t Breathe During Confrontation
The young boy involved in the incident was later interviewed by officers and gave a disturbing account of what occurred before the violence escalated.
The child told police that he and another juvenile had been squirting water, which allegedly angered Webb. He said Webb then held his head down, restricting his breathing.
Police emphasized the significant age difference between Webb and the child, noting that the boy was extremely upset and crying during the interview.
Defendant Allegedly Admitted She Knew Victim Was Pregnant
Webb was located shortly after the incident, police say, walking away from the home while talking on her phone and saying, “I’m on that.” She was taken into custody and placed in a patrol vehicle.
After being advised of her Miranda rights, Webb reportedly made statements that became central to the charges.
According to the affidavit, Webb acknowledged she knew the woman was pregnant but said she “did not care,” adding that if someone hit her, she would hit back.
When questioned about her earlier statement, Webb allegedly explained that “I’m on that” meant she doesn’t care and will retaliate physically.
Police Question Defendant’s Self-Defense Claims
During the interview, Webb claimed the pregnant woman struck her first and that she had been attacked with a blow dryer. However, officers reported no visible injuries consistent with being struck by a blunt object.
Police did observe a single scratch on Webb’s face, which they said was consistent with a brief physical struggle but not with her broader claims.
The victim’s husband was also interviewed and provided a statement that corroborated his wife’s version of events, according to police.
Court Dates Set as Case Moves Forward
Webb was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail following her arrest. Jail records show she later posted bond.
She is scheduled to appear in court on February 18, with an initial hearing set for March 12 as the case proceeds through the Florida court system.
If convicted, Webb could face significant prison time, particularly due to the pregnancy-related enhancement attached to the aggravated battery charge.
