Texas Woman Discovers Strangers Living in Her Home via Dog Camera While She Was on Vacation

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — A Texas woman says her vacation took a shocking turn after she checked her dog camera and discovered complete strangers inside her home, casually sitting on her furniture as if they lived there.

Dog Camera Footage Reveals Uninvited Guests

The woman, Morgan Frankie, shared the disturbing discovery in a viral post on TikTok, where she uploaded video footage captured inside her San Antonio home. The clips show two men and two women inside her living room in the early morning hours.

In the footage, one man is seen sitting comfortably on the couch with Frankie’s dogs, while another walks around the room. Two women sit on a separate couch under a blanket, chatting, appearing completely at ease inside the home.

Frankie said she received a doorbell notification around 6 a.m. alerting her to movement at the house. When she reviewed the footage, she discovered the group had entered the home at approximately 2:45 a.m.

Dog Sitter Allegedly Brought Strangers Inside

According to Frankie, one of the women seen in the footage was her dog sitter, who had been entrusted with caring for the dogs while Frankie was away on vacation.

In an earlier video, Frankie explained that the sitter was fully aware of the cameras inside the home. Frankie said she even told the sitter she could unplug them if she felt uncomfortable — but the sitter chose to leave them on.

What shocked Frankie most, she said, was discovering that the sitter allegedly gave the strangers a tour of the house, including private areas such as her bedroom and home office.

“They were in my house for about 10 minutes, just walking around,” Frankie said in one of her posts.

Immediate Firing and Online Backlash

After seeing the footage, Frankie said she immediately fired the dog sitter, calling the behavior a severe violation of trust and privacy.

The videos quickly gained traction online, sparking intense debate. Many viewers condemned the sitter’s actions as reckless and unsafe, while a smaller group oddly defended her.

One commenter wrote, “This is how people end up being squatters and take over your home.
Another added, “This is crazy weird. What dog sitter thinks this is okay?
A self-identified pet sitter commented, “People tell me I can bring friends over, but I still never do because that’s just weird.”

Others argued the sitter may have simply been bored while staying alone with the dogs — a defense that drew swift criticism from homeowners and pet sitters alike.

Safety and Trust Concerns Raised

Frankie’s experience has reignited broader concerns about home security, pet-sitting trust, and short-term access to private residences. While there’s no indication the strangers caused damage or stole anything, commenters noted that the situation could have ended far worse.

Experts often warn that unauthorized access to a home — even temporarily — can open the door to theft, property damage, or legal disputes if occupants later refuse to leave.

A Lesson Learned the Hard Way

Frankie has not indicated whether she plans to pursue legal action, but she said the incident completely changed how she views home security and hiring in-home services.

As one commenter bluntly put it, “This is exactly how people lose control of their own homes.”
