IOWA — A confirmed tornado is on the ground in southern Iowa as of 7:20 PM CT on Monday, May 18, 2026, moving northeast at 30 mph and tracking directly toward a populated corridor that includes Leon, Chariton, and Knoxville. Anyone in the path of this storm must take shelter immediately.
